Two classes from King Middle School visited the City Council Chambers on Thursday, April 11. Mayor Wells-Armstrong and City Department Heads spoke to the students about their roles in City government. Mayor Wells-Armstrong spoke to the students about the importance of being a voice in their local government and how concerns from a student attending King Middle School prompted the City to apply for a Safe Routes to School Grant to improve safety in front of the school. The students also had mock committee meetings and council meetings with Second Ward Council Members, Stacy Gall and Mike O’Brien. Thank you to all who participated in this opportunity for District #111 students!
