Event Description

THE EFFECTS OF TRAUMA are becoming increasingly well understood and evidence-based practices for treating the impact of trauma are continually developing. Despite these advancements, the full impact of trauma and indirect trauma on helping professionals is only beginning to be explored.

David Strother, director of military services at Signature Psychiatric Hospital, is one of the professionals leading this vanguard.

Through his work in the Valor Recovery Program, a 28‑day intensive program for active military, veterans and first responders, Mr. Strother is advancing our knowledge of trauma-focused care to helping professionals in new ways.

THROUGHOUT THIS WORKSHOP, Mr. Strother will provide insight, examples and exercises designed to help attendees explore their own vulnerability to trauma and learn how to provide support to first responders within their community.
