Event Description

The City of Kankakee Economic and Community Development Agency (ECDA) will host a Community Conversation on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 5:30pm at the Lisieux Center (455 St Joseph Ave, Kankakee). This is the second Community Conversation in the 2026 series for the residents of Kankakee with future Community Conversations taking place on the second Thursday of each month through October. A different topic for education and discussion will be featured monthly in partnership with a local organization. The highlighted topic for April is Housing Rights in partnership with Prairie State Legal Services. Kankakeeans are encouraged to attend with the purpose of learning, providing personal perspectives about their neighborhoods, and engaging with their neighbors.

La Agencia de Desarrollo Económico y Comunitario (ECDA) de la Ciudad de Kankakee organizará una Conversación Comunitaria el jueves 9 de abril de 2026, a las 5:30 p. m., en el Centro Lisieux (455 St Joseph Ave, Kankakee). Esta es la segunda Conversación Comunitaria de la serie de 2026 para los residentes de Kankakee; las futuras conversaciones comunitarias se llevarán a cabo el segundo jueves de cada mes hasta octubre. Cada mes se presentará un tema diferente para la educación y el debate, en colaboración con una organización local. El tema destacado para el mes de abril es “Derechos de Vivienda”, en colaboración con Prairie State Legal Services. Se alienta a los residentes de Kankakee a asistir con el propósito de aprender, compartir sus perspectivas personales sobre sus vecindarios e interactuar con sus vecinos.
