CITY OF KANKAKEE MOSQUITO ABATEMENT NOTICE

June 22, 2026

The City of Kankakee Department of Public Works will be conducting mosquito abatement operations throughout the City of Kankakee to reduce mosquito populations and help protect public health.

Residents may see mosquito abatement trucks operating daily between 9:00 PM and 11:00 PM, weather permitting. Treatment locations may vary from day to day based on weather conditions, mosquito activity, and operational needs.

The City utilizes Perm-X UL 4-4 mosquito control product, an insecticide registered for mosquito control applications. Applications are made by trained personnel in accordance with all label requirements.

Residents can help reduce mosquito populations by eliminating standing water from containers, bird baths, gutters, tires, and other areas where water may collect.

For additional information regarding the City’s mosquito abatement program, please contact the City of Kankakee Department of Public Works at (815) 933-0472.
