Why Is This Work Being Done?
The Lead Service Line Replacement Program is required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA). Aqua Illinois is working with contractors to identify and replace eligible service lines that are constructed out of lead and galvanized steel.
What Residents Can Expect?
Aqua Illinois will replace eligible lead or galvanized water service lines at no direct cost to the property owner. A service line is the pipe that connects the water in the street to your home.
