As Mayor of the City of Kankakee, I am pleased to welcome you to our city on the rise. Thank you for visiting us and for taking the time to learn more about our community.

Nicor Gas will install a new gas main from Washington Ave to East Ave. As part of this project, a daily temporary lane closure will be necessary for parts of Chestnut Street to allow boring under the railroad tracks.

• Duration: Approximately two weeks (Thursday, February 20 - Friday, March 7)

Veterans are invited to meet one on one with a staff member from the Veterans Assistance Commission of Kankakee County. They will be available every Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM to answer questions and provide referrals to resources including medical care, housing, support groups, form completion, and more.
