The Private Security Camera Incentive Program creates an incentive for residents, businesses, nonprofits, and religious institutions to purchase and install security cameras that are intended to help deter crime and assist law enforcement with investigations. The program offers rebates for the purchase of security cameras.
Mayor Chris Curtis, in consultation with Kankakee City Council members, is asking City of Kankakee residents to share their priorities for the expenditure of American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds. The City was allocated approximately $14.6 million in federal assistance to help recover from the pandemic, and public input will help determine how this money is spent.
