Event Description

Kankakee County Center Against Sexual Assault (KC-CASA) is hosting its 12th Annual Walk A Mile In Her Shoes® at the K.V.P.D. RecCenter on Friday, April 26th. As the name of the walk indicates, participants are encouraged to wear women’s shoes as a symbol of their commitment to this important cause. Our goal this year is to have at least 150 walkers from Kankakee County. The event will start and end at the RecCenter, 150 N. Indiana Ave, Kankakee. Our route will take us through downtown Kankakee and around the County Courthouse.

We invite you to participate in this walk, and encourage you to assemble a team of 5-10 men/women to join us as well. The purpose of this activity is to empower men and raise awareness of men’s violence against women. Men have the power to cease sexualized violence and become more active in trying to bring about a solution.

The cost of participating is $10 per walker ($8 per walker for teams of 5 or more). Register online at www.kc-casa.org. Day of registration begins at 11:00 am on Friday, April 26th. Registrants will receive a t-shirt for participating.
