Event Description

This is the first of a six (6) course series in receiving a certificate in Homebuyers Education. The full course load is available online (call 815-933-0506 for more information). At the end of all six (6) courses, you will receive a corticate of completion – we will keep track of which courses you have taken for you. Homeownership education provides a solid foundation for the first-time homebuyers, a nuts and bolts tour of the entire homebuying process. It empowers you to make informed decisions about one of the largest purchased you may ever make.

You are taking an important step toward realizing the dream of many Americans – owning your own home. The key is to set realistic goals, get sound information, plan carefully, and clearly understand the costs and process. This first course helps you decide if homeownership is right for you, gives you an overview of the homebuying process and lets you know whether you can afford to buy a home now.
