Kankakee, IL – Upon learning of confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) at Shapiro Developmental Center, Mayor Wells-Armstrong is reaching out to state legislators to further address the needs and concerns of the employees who are working on the front lines to care for their residents at the mental health residential facility.

Social distancing requirements have seriously impacted our staff. We will continue to remove woody waste such as tree branches and limbs, but specifically no leaves. We can field at one time.
