Kankakee, IL –  On Friday, June 26, the Illinois Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects presented a Merit Award to the City of Kankakee for its Kankakee Riverfront Master Plan. Mayor Chasity Wells-Armstrong accepted the award on behalf of the citizens and community leaders who invested countless hours on the transformational plan.

Kankakee, IL –  The National Weather Service issued an excessive heat warning, effective today, July 18th, 2019 through 7:00 PM on Saturday, July 20th, 2019. The hottest conditions will be on Friday and Saturday with high temperatures of 95 to 100 degrees. During extremely hot and humid weather, your body’s ability to cool itself is challenged.

Kankakee, IL – During the July 15, 2019 city council meeting, the city council voted 13-0 to approve the refunding of general obligation and sewer bonds which total approximately $975,000 in savings to the City of Kankakee.  Alderman Larry Osenga (R-3) was not in attendance.
