KANKAKEE – Kankakee Mayor Chasity Wells-Armstrong met with officials from Riverside Medical Center on Thursday to discuss updates the hospital has made in recent months that will greatly expand medical services available to area residents. Mayor Wells-Armstrong was joined by Bradley Mayor Bruce Adams and Bourbonnais Mayor Paul Shore.

“Riverside Medical Center is an essential partner in ensuring Kankakee area residents have access to quality health care right here in our community,” Mayor Wells-Armstrong said. “The expansion of available health services shows the dedication the hospital has for our community both now and for years to come.”

Riverside Medical Center recently welcomed its first orthopedic surgeon to the hospital. In addition, fifteen specialty-practice physicians have also been added to hospital staff, ranging from cardiologists to urologists.

The hospital also recently updated its inpatient pharmacy and opened an immediate care center in the newly-opened Meijer in Bradley.
