There have been many multiple shots fired and shooting incidents in the past few days. These incidents are occurring in the 1st and 2nd wards. The Gang Enforcement Tactical Unit (GETU), Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group (KAMEG) along with the Patrol Division are collaborating to insure that "hot spot policing" is taking place in these areas. The Kankakee City Police Department will continue working in partnership with Cities United and Kankakee United on a city-wide safety plan to address violence in the City of Kankakee.
