Kankakee, IL - a ribbon cutting ceremony was held today for the new Pizza Hut restaurant located at 375 West Court Street. Participating in the ribbon cutting were City of Kankakee elected officials including Mayor Chasity Wells-Armstrong, Alderwoman Carmen Lewis (D-5), and Alderman Mike Cobbs (D-6). Additional participants included Emily Poff, Executive Director of the Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce, Tracy Krumwiede, Vice President of Operations, Budd Fuqua, Market Manager, and Gabe Rodriquez, District Manager, on behalf of EYM Pizza of IL and CAM Development Group. The restaurant is a great addition to the City of Kankakee. The site will employ 20 employees and five managers. This location can accommodate seating for 24 customers and provides delivery services as well.
This is the latest restaurant to be opened under EYM leadership. Other facilities include 2516 North Avenue and 4350 South Pulaski, both in Chicago.
Budd Fuqua, EYM Market Manager stated “we are excited to participate in the growth of Kankakee and open the doors of our new Pizza Hut location. The response from the community has been overwhelming and we are ecstatic about this store’s success.”
Pizza Hut joins a growing list of companies that have located in or near downtown Kankakee, including Grapes and Hops, Yellow Elephant Gallery, The Palace, Stefari Cafe’, Auto Lab, Happy Monday Coffee Roasters, and others.
“A key component of the Kankakee Forward agenda is repurposing vacant lots. This building was vacant for several years and as a priority of this administration, I am pleased with the investment in this space, the neighborhood and our community members. The City will continue to work with small business owners and entrepreneurs to aid in their success,” said Mayor Wells-Armstrong.
