The City of Kankakee has received Community Development Block Grant funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The primary objectives of the CDBG program are to provide decent housing, a suitable living environment and expand economic opportunities, principally for low- and moderate-income persons and neighborhoods. CDBG rules require the City to develop a consolidated plan every five years and Kankakee delegates that responsibility to the Economic and Community Development Agency (ECDA). HUD encourages the lead agency to consult with interested parties including agencies, groups, organizations, income-eligible persons and other interested parties. We need your input to help us establish our program priorities for the next five years.
The Kankakee ECDA is required provide a concise summary of the nature and extent of HOUSING NEEDS, NON-HOUSING COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT NEEDS, and HOMELESSNESS NEEDS in the City. There are three surveys – one for each topic. Your responses to the following surveys help us prepare those summaries and describe our strategies for addressing those issues during the next five years.
All surveys are open through October 31, 2019
