Mayor Wells-Armstrong, in partnership with the Kankakee Public Library and Community Foundation, is hosting the 2020 African American Civic Leaders' Scholarship event at the Kankakee Public Library, 201 E. Merchant Street in Kankakee. Scholarships are awarded to help graduating high school seniors and full-time students under the age of 21 who are residents of the City of Kankakee. Mayor Wells-Armstrong awards scholarships based on positive leadership and character exhibited in school and community activities. The event planning committee selects the scholarship recipients.
