Kankakee, IL – In an effort to follow Governor Pritzker’s Executive Order to create social distance, the City of Kankakee will continue to broadcast LIVE for City Council and all committee meetings until further notice unless otherwise noted.

Each meeting will continue to be hosted by the chairman of that committee. The public can watch all meeting video streams three ways: LIVE on Comcast local channel four, the City of Kankakee’s YouTube channel and the City’s website at www.citykankakee-il.gov under the media tab. Video streams are stored on the City’s YouTube channel and website for later viewing and are separated by category.

  Video Streams

The public is advised to watch all meetings from home until further notice. In order for the public to view the City’s video streams on Comcast local channel 4, meetings need to be conducted remotely from the council chambers.

“As we continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Kankakee will remain proactive in managing the business of the City. Municipalities are working across the nation to adjust to utilizing new technology to be accessible to the public. We appreciate your patience and understanding on this matter,” said Mayor Wells-Armstrong.

Council dates and committee meetings for the year 2020 can be viewed here: https://citykankakee-il.gov/citycalendar.php.

Public comments can be submitted ahead of time via email only and will be accepted through 3:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting.
