Kankakee, IL – In response to heavy rainfall over the weekend, the City of Kankakee reached out to Republic Services to coordinate having dumpsters placed throughout the community to assist with cleanup.
Kankakee’s Environmental Services Utility (ESU) has confirmed sewer lines throughout the City of Kankakee were not blocked, but surcharged to hydraulic capacity. They estimate approximately 2.15 billion gallons of rainwater came down in the city since last Thursday.
