COVID-19 UPDATE!

As of 05/27/2020, Kankakee County has 1,124 confirmed cases of COVID-19. There have been 28 new cases since our last update. Here is the information we can release about our most recent cases:

Of the 28 new cases, 16 are male and 12 are female.

Of the 28 new cases, the following age ranges are represented:

3 are under 13
6 are in their teens
5 are in their 20s
2 are in their 30s
7 are in their 40s
4 are in their 50s
1 is in their 90s

Kankakee County now has 53 COVID-19 related deaths. Our deepest sympathies are with the families.

Kankakee County also has 390 recoveries.

Of the 681 active cases, 10 are currently hospitalized in Kankakee County.

Of the 1,124 cases, 555 cases are outbreak associated meaning they are linked to a congregate setting or large gathering.

Positive cases are county wide. We encourage you to continue taking precautions and practicing social distancing.

There has been a significant increase in testing in Kankakee County. The increase in cases is no cause for panic.

Our Communicable Disease nurses are working tirelessly to follow up with contact investigation and to notify anyone confirmed cases may have had contact with. Continue to follow our social media and website for daily updates.
