Restore Illinois: Guidelines for Businesses and Employers under Phase Four

June 24, 2020

Kankakee, IL – On Friday, June 26, 2020, all four regions in the state of Illinois are on track to enter into phase four (revitalization) under the Restore Illinois plan. According to data from ProPublica at https://projects.propublica.org/reopening-america/, Illinois made national news as the first state to meet all federal guidelines to begin reopening. The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) stated they will continue to monitor data and will recommend moving to a previous phase if needed.

Phase four will allow the reopening of additional businesses including movie theaters, zoos, museums, outdoor events, gatherings and indoor dining at restaurants operating under limited capacity, as well as, social distancing guidelines. All guidelines, helpful resources and signage can be found here: https://dceocovid19resources.com/restore-illinois/restore-illinois-phase-4/.

“Living through COVID-19 has been challenging for everyone, but I am proud of the leadership in our state to make sound public health decisions as we navigate through this pandemic. Locally, our team has been working with residents and business owners to identify resources, modify processes to allow us to safely provide services, and facilitate the Bounce Back Kankakee program in which we secured thousands of dollars to provide mortgage, rent and utility assistance during these uncertain times. I am appreciative of community partners who have chosen to work together during this time and thank all of our essential workers including first responders, hospital personnel and others. We are on the road to recovery,” said Mayor Wells-Armstrong.

Additional updates from the City of Kankakee will follow regarding City of Kankakee offices reopening to the public and resuming in-person committee meetings.
