Kankakee, IL – A new business in the City of Kankakee has officially opened its doors. Station Street Café, located at 150 E. Station Street, is serving up a variety of lunch items in downtown Kankakee.
“We are really excited to serve everyone and wanted to make sure we have something unique, trendy and fun in the community. We will start with lunch Monday through Friday, and then we hope to add breakfast on the menu within the next couple of weeks on Saturday and Sunday,” said Business Owner, Adam Baumgartner.
Someone who is even more excited about what’s on the menu is Executive Chef, Justin Daniel, who is originally from Kankakee.
“I’ve been cooking since the age of 15 and it is my ultimate passion. I am a chef in downtown Chicago, but Station Street Café gives me the opportunity to show my creativity right here in my hometown. I’m passionate about working in my community,” said Executive Chef, Justin Daniel.
“To have people come back home and work in their community speaks volumes about being a tight knit community with the potential to grow. Even in a pandemic, the City of Kankakee is working hard to continue supporting business owners and their staff on their journey to success,” said Mayor Wells-Armstrong.
Station Street Café is currently open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. with plans to expand their hours on the weekend.
