At about 10:30 PM on August 6, 2020, officers responded to a report of a gunshot victim at a residence on the 300 Block of S. Rosewood Avenue.  Upon arrival, officers located a male subject on the front porch of the residence deceased from an apparent gunshot.

     A relative advised that she found the victim on the floor of the front porch when she returned to the house. She reported that he was temporarily residing at the residence with relatives. Based on shell casings found on the scene near the victim, the preliminary investigation indicates that he was the intended target and was not struck by random gunfire.  

     The Kankakee Police Department and the Kankakee County Coroner’s Office are investigating the homicide.   Anyone with information is requested to contact the Kankakee Police Department at 815-933-3321.
