Public comments can be emailed up until 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 by emailing publiccomment@citykankakee-il.gov.

Joining City Council will be City of Kankakee police and the Kankakee United Leadership Team to further discuss strategies, propose solutions, as well as, brainstorm ideas to address gun violence in the community.

“I was glad to see residents, elected officials, community leaders, partners and City team members attend the community meeting held last week. I heard many concerns from residents and have been addressing them with our police department. I look forward to further strategy sessions and identifying resources for our community. I encourage our community members to share their ideas and get involved as we continue to implement this much needed change. No one person can resolve this complex issue. This will take the effort of our village,” said Mayor Wells-Armstrong.
