Celebrate the Christmas season with the City of Kankakee and the Kankakee Public Library as we prepare to decorate and celebrate the beauty of downtown. Two children (ages 12 and under) will be chosen to wreath the lions, Readmore and Seemore with Mayor Chasity Wells-Armstrong on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. for a private photo shoot. Visit the Kankakee Public Library’s Youth Services Facebook page, Instagram @kplyouthservices, or on the website at www.lions-online.org for more information on how to enter.
Soon Downtown will be buzzing with lights, sightseers, shoppers, and good cheer for the holiday season. On Thursday, December 3, 2020 at sundown, the City tree will be lit and the Depot lights will be dancing to holiday music on 97.3FM. Drive through the Harold and Jean Miner Festival Square to enjoy the sights and sounds. As you drive through, be sure to keep an eye out for Santa’s special mail box, as well as, drop off your Christmas lists and letters to the North Pole!
