Kankakee United and Public Safety Update Ahead on Kankakee Chats

January 27, 2021

Kankakee, IL – Looking ahead in the new year, the Kankakee United Leadership Team is set to present an update on Mayor Wells-Armstrong’s monthly livestream, Kankakee Chats. The livestream will broadcast on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. on Comcast local channel four, the City of Kankakee’s Facebook page, YouTube channel and website.

“While the Covid-19 pandemic had an impact on outreach and events, I am proud of our leadership team and City Lead for Kankakee United, Linh Williams, for carrying out informative and interactive workshops in 2020 to specifically focus on our youth. This aligns with Kankakee United’s mission to help reduce gun violence involving African American males under the age of 25. I would also like to thank our community partners. We still have a lot of work to do, and it is going to take the entire community to come together,” said Mayor Wells-Armstrong.

“I am proud of what we have accomplished in 2020. We look forward to new programming and partnerships as we begin a new year,” said City Lead, Linh Williams.

An update on public safety will also take place during the livestream from the Kankakee Police Department, legal counsel and the Economic and Community Development Agency (ECDA).

Questions from viewers can be submitted ahead of time at https://citykankakee-il.gov/chatquestions-submit.php or during the livestream on the City of Kankakee’s Facebook page.
