Arrest in connection with the death of Phillip Spencer Structure Fire in the 455 of East Bourbonnais St. Kankakee, Il

On February 2, 2023 at approximately 9:45 pm, the Kankakee Fire Department was notified of a residential fire at 455 E. Bourbonnais St. The fire resulted in the death of a resident. Within the structure, the fire department found a male resident, Phillip Spencer deceased. The fire was investigated, and was determined to be suspicious in nature.

 

Kankakee Fire/Arson Investigators and Kankakee Police Detectives conducted a thorough death investigation. This morning the investigation team arrested a suspect in connection with the fire. Mrs. Tammy Spencer, 57, of 455 E. Bourbonnais St. was arrested today, and will be charged with starting the fire and the death of Mr. Phillip Spencer.

 

The skilled investigation work from both the Kankakee Police and Kankakee Fire Department’s investigators led to Mrs. Spencer’s arrest.
