Aqua has announced that all residents in Kankakee (along with the Aqua service area County wide) should use bottled water or boil water to be used for drinking, food preparation, brushing teeth or making ice.

The rapid thaw and heavy rains this week has caused operational challenges in at the water plant and distribution system. This is a result due to increased turbidity (dirt and sediment from their source water based on high flow).

The plant has recovered and is operating within compliance standards at this time, including having full water pressure, but it is necessary to take this precaution until information and testing can confirm the water quality is acceptable for normal use. This testing and verification is expected to take 24-48 hours. Aqua apologizes for the inconvenience and is working to lift the alert as soon as possible.

Aqua ha anunciado que todos los residentes en Kankakee (junto con el área de servicio de Aqua en todo el Condado) deben usar agua embotellada o hervir el agua que se utilizará para beber, preparar alimentos, cepillarse los dientes o hacer hielo.

El rápido deshielo y las fuertes lluvias de esta semana ha causado problemas operativos en la planta de agua y el sistema de distribución. Este es un resultado debido al aumento de la turbidez (suciedad y sedimentos de su agua de origen basado en el alto flujo).

La planta se ha recuperado y está operando dentro de las normas de cumplimiento en este momento, incluyendo tener la presión del agua completa, pero es necesario tomar esta precaución hasta que la información y las pruebas pueden confirmar la calidad del agua es aceptable para el uso normal. Se espera que estas pruebas y verificaciones tarden entre 24 y 48 horas. Aqua pide disculpas por las molestias y está trabajando para levantar la alerta lo antes posible.
