Kankakee, IL — The City of Kankakee’s Annual Thanksgiving Dinner Giveaway, hosted by Mayor Christopher W. Curtis, will take place on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the parking lot of the Kankakee Municipal Building. This year’s event will again provide free turkeys and traditional Thanksgiving side dishes to families in need, thanks to the generous support of local businesses and sponsors.
The Thanksgiving Dinner Giveaway has become a cherished tradition here in Kankakee, and we are proud to continue this important community initiative,” said Mayor Curtis. “Last year, we were able to serve over 200 families, and with the rising cost of living and economic challenges facing so many in our community, it is crucial that we continue to provide additional support. I’m grateful for our partners—Walmart, Berkot's Super Foods, Kohl Apartment Rentals, and Jewel-Osco—for their continued generosity, as well as David Guzman and the volunteers who help make this event possible. We’re excited to see this event grow each year, as we work together to ensure all of our neighbors have a memorable and special holiday.”
The Thanksgiving Dinner Giveaway will be available to City of Kankakee residents on a first-registered, first-served basis. Interested individuals must register online to receive a meal.
