Event Description

The Zonta Club of Kankakee invites you to attend the Annual Take Back the Night Rally in support of the Kankakee County Center Against Sexual Assault (KC-CASA) on Tuesday, April 2nd at 6:00 p.m. in the Amita St. Mary’s Conference Center. Participation is FREE.

Take Back the Night has motivated both women and men to confront numerous social evils, including rape, sexual violence, domestic violence and violence against women and children. This year’s event will include stories shared by sexual violence survivors and a short march outside if the weather permits.

Show your support that human beings have the right to be free from violence, the right to be heard, and the right to walk in their community free from fear of sexual violence.

It is estimated that violence against women is as serious a cause of death as cancer, and more women die from violent assaults than from traffic accidents. Violence against women and children is a despicable form of discrimination that must be eradicated.
