KANKAKEE, IL (March 7, 2023) – The Economic and Community Development Agency is hosting its final individual tax workshop to help community members prepare themselves for the 2023 tax season. This final workshop will be held on Tuesday, March 21st at 5:00 PM in the ECDA conference room, located at 200 E Court Street Suite 410 in Kankakee.

On February 2, 2023 at approximately 9:45 pm, the Kankakee Fire Department was notified of a residential fire at 455 E. Bourbonnais St. The fire resulted in the death of a resident. Within the structure, the fire department found a male resident, Phillip Spencer deceased. The fire was investigated, and was determined to be suspicious in nature.

KANKAKEE, IL (February 23, 2023) – The Economic and Community Development Agency (ECDA) will begin hosting community conversations for the residents of Kankakee in the upcoming year. The gatherings will be held throughout the City of Kankakee to reach residents across the seven (7) wards.
