KANKAKEE, Ill. (June 23, 2020) – The Mayor’s Advisory Committee (MAC) and City Council approved funding for fiscal year 2020-2021 to four local nonprofits through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program administered by the Economic and Community Development Agency (ECDA).

Kankakee, IL – Kankakee United was recently awarded a grant in the amount of $2,000 from the City of Kankakee’s Walmart. The grant was pursued by Kankakee United City Lead, Linh Williams.

Kankakee, IL – Lieutenant Governor, Juliana Stratton, will be in town today to visit local businesses. Her visit will begin at the Alkevulan History Center in Kankakee with Dr. Leonard Porter, the founder of the museum.

Kankakee, IL – City of Kankakee offices will reopen to the public on Monday, July 6, 2020. Anyone entering the building must have on a face covering and social distancing guidelines have been put into place. Hours of operation will remain the same from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
