Kankakee, IL – Mayor Wells-Armstrong has signed the pledge initiated by the Obama Foundation as a nationwide call to action in light of George Floyd’s death and the many others who have lost their life to police brutality.  

Kankakee, IL – Mayor Wells-Armstrong is set to present the 2020 State of the City Address tonight at 7:00 p.m. The key focus of the speech is to give an update on what has been accomplished in the fiscal year, highlight projects in the City of Kankakee, encourage civic engagement and provide further plans to move Kankakee Forward.

Kankakee, IL – Five young men and women have been chosen by the committee for Mayor Wells-Armstrong’s African American Civic Leaders’ Scholarship. Each recipient will be awarded in the amount of $2,000 per student.
