Kankakee, IL – In response to heavy rainfall over the weekend, the City of Kankakee reached out to Republic Services to coordinate having dumpsters placed throughout the community to assist with cleanup.

Kankakee, IL – The City of Kankakee has an update from the Environmental Services Utility department (ESU) in the following message:

A sump pump discharge line that is hooked up to the city sanitary sewer system is NOT a good idea, especially during this time of the year when heavy rains are anticipated.

Kankakee, IL – Today, Kankakee police joined law enforcement officers in the community to honor all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. A proclamation was signed by President John F. Kennedy in 1962 to designate May 15th as “Peace Officers Memorial Day.”

Kankakee, IL – Food pantries nationwide continue to see an increase for the need, especially during this time. Mayor Wells-Armstrong is partnering with local grocery stores, Jewel-Osco and Berkot’s Super Foods in Kankakee, to host a food drive for Kankakee County Community Services, Inc (KCCSI).
