City of Kankakee to Continue to Operate Under Governor Pritzker’s Executive Order with New Modifications

Kankakee, IL – Governor J.B. Pritzker has extended the “Shelter-in-Place Executive Order with modifications beginning today on May 1, 2020 through Saturday, May 30, 2020. Beginning May 1, 2020, all persons ages two years and up will be required to wear a face covering or a mask in public at any time they can’t maintain a six-foot social distance.

 

Mayor Wells-Armstrong Secures $10,000 Grant for the City of Kankakee to Respond to the 2020 Census

Kankakee, IL – The City of Kankakee has been awarded $10,000 from the National League of Cities as a result of a grant secured by Mayor Wells-Armstrong. The grant will sponsor the Get-Out-The-Count (GOTC) effort as a push to complete an accurate count for the 2020 Census.

 

Kankakee Fire Department Replaces 12-Year-Old Ambulance

Kankakee, IL –  The Kankakee Fire Department is pleased to announce a new ambulance has been added to its fleet. The ambulance replaces a 12-year-old unit with 24,000 hours on it. The department operates two Advance Life Support ambulances available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
