Kankakee, IL – City of Kankakee Economic and Community Development Agency (ECDA) will be postponing all events and public meetings until further notice. This decision is made in consideration of COVID-19 and the recommendation to practice social distance in an effort to slow the spread of disease.

Kankakee, IL – The City of Kankakee Police Department announced it will conduct special patrols this St. Patrick’s Day to crack down on impaired drivers and encourage people to wear their seat belts. Celebrated throughout the nation, St. Patrick’s Day is one of the deadliest holidays of the year due to the number of drunk drivers on the road.
There will be increased police presence today for dismissal times at Millie Proegler School in Kankakee following a shooting that occurred around 9:45 a.m. on the 1100 block of Chicago Place. School officials have been notified.
