COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution in Kankakee County

With the recent Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) approval for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine there have been a lot of questions circulating around how this vaccine will be administered to the community members of Kankakee County. Limited amounts of the COVID-19 vaccine will begin to be allocated to Kankakee County in the coming weeks.

Kankakee Police Investigate Homicide

At about 1:50 PM on December 4, 2020, officers responded to a report of shots fired on the 1300 block of West Station Street.  Upon arrival, officers located a 32-year-old male with gunshot wounds in a parked vehicle.  The male, Patrick Chism of Bourbonnais, was transported to a local hospital where he subsequently died from his wounds.

The recent spike in positive COVID-19 cases and Tier 2 mitigations led to the decision. Tier 2 mitigations reduces the size of gatherings to 10 people or less in both indoor and outdoor settings.
