Kankakee, IL – Being close to home and serving the community are common reasons among new hires within the City of Kankakee, and it’s no different for the Kankakee Fire Department’s newest team members.

Detective Lacie Zingre Harsy recently made history as the first woman officer promoted to Sergeant in the Kankakee Police Department.

Kankakee, IL – Updating streetlights is on the horizon for the City of Kankakee. The Environmental Services Utility (ESU) was recently awarded a ComEd grant in the amount of $18,500. The funds will need to be used by the end of August 2021.
