(March 4, 2022) – The City of Kankakee’s Economic and Community Development Agency (ECDA) has three new programs to assist Kankakee residents thanks to the City Council’s ARP allocations. Applications for the Moderate-Income Rehab Assistance Program (MIRA), Rental Rehab program, and Kankakee American Rescue Plan (KARP) Public Service

KANKAKEE, Ill. (December 1, 2021) – For over 20 years, the Public Service Program has been administered by the City of Kankakee to fund local not-for-profit agencies providing services to low-to-moderate income persons in the City of Kankakee.

Kankakee, Ill. (November 2, 2021) - The City of Kankakee’s Economic and Community Development Agency (ECDA) was selected by Housing Action Illinois to participate in a new initiative with AmeriCorps VISTA to build the agency’s capacity for housing counseling programs.

The City of Kankakee has a new Community Outreach Coordinator. Samantha Rocknowski has joined the Kankakee Economic and Community Development Agency (ECDA) as Rachel Schramm’s successor under the leadership of Executive Director Barbi Brewer-Watson.

In recognition of the needs of Kankakee residents and after listening to feedback from the community, the Economic Community and Development Agency (ECDA) has expanded their office hours.

KANKAKEE, Ill. (October 18, 2021) – Last December, the Economic and Community Development Agency announced its Private Security Camera Incentive Program for the City of Kankakee. In that time, twelve camera rebates have been distributed.
